When I first got my “real” camera, I’ll admit I lived in auto mode. But over time, I noticed I couldn’t control the look of my photos. I realized if I wanted to take photos that actually matched the creative vision in my head, I had to stop relying on auto mode.
When I first picked up a camera, I thought photography would come naturally. I had an eye for pretty things, after all. But the reality? Most of my photos were a blurry, dark, awkward mess — no matter how hard I tried.
It’s easy to think that upgrading your gear is the key to better photos. But here’s the truth: expensive equipment doesn’t automatically create great images. Knowing how to see and use light does.
